Finch One at Alpine Village Resort
It just doesn't get any better than this. 2 BR, 2BA Outstanding views from your private deck. Finch-One is the closest unit to the clubhouse, pool, and tennis courts. Right out the door, About 50 yards to end edge of Pisgah National Forest and trailhead to Mt Mitchell and other interconnecting trails. Beautifully appointed cottage (a duplex condo) with wood burning fireplace, free wireless access. Great trout fishing within a mile, Mt Mitchell Golf course within 2 miles, and the Blue Ridge Parkway only 3 miles away.
Clubhouse back entrance is just about 50' from the unit, and has gift shop, meeting rooms and sitting rooms, billiard room, fax machine, soft drinks, etc.
Heated swimming pool is open May through September (depending on weather).
$125 to $135 per night, 3 night minimum, or $550 to $650 per week. Higher rate is June through October

Bring your kayak, fishing pole, and swimming trunks. Features 150’ on the South Toe River, and 8 acres of woods and creeks to explore, this 2 bedroom 1 bath cabin has been restored with period furnishings. Bring your own linens and towels, otherwise its fully furnished. No TV or Phone -- so tell everyone you’ve gone on vacation and leave you alone! You won’t find a more peaceful and rustic cabin in these mountains.

Directions to Bears Den
"The Bears Den" - on the South Toe River
3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, and a wonderful deck overlooking the South Toe River, with nothing but woods beyond. Just steps from "Ballew's General Store" in the little hamlet of Hamrick. About 200 yards walk to the Carolina Hemlocks Recreation Park operated by the US Forest Service. You can take our inner tubes and roll them to the upper part of the campground there, and tube your way all the way home, takes about 1/2 hour back to the house via the water. Best trout fishing in the eastern US with lots of native brook trout, and stocked rainbows and brown trout.
The river is deep enough to swim in, and this home features an easy grassy walk down to the river, a hammock and a fire pit on the banks so you can roast those marshmallows and hot dogs.
Not a big house, but not a lot of money to rent! $550/week except October which is $900/week (peak season you know, lots of great colors along the river). Plus tax.
TV with cable & videos, and you only need to bring your toothbrush, and food and drink. Cell phones DO WORK from the front porch.
